Sarah Marie Bugeja is a Maltese jazz composer, singer and visual artist who bridges the worlds of art and music through a variety of projects. As a musician she combines elements from jazz, world music and classical contemporary music into a versatile sound in both performance and composition. With improvisation as the main aspect of her creativity, the two worlds of art and music have several intersections in her work. As a music performer she weaves influences and composes music on the spot, which is not confined in any one specific stylistic box.
Sarah Marie Bugeja is currently focusing on music education in the New York City area. She specializes in teaching piano, voice, music theory, ear training, arranging, composition and improvisation to students of all instruments and levels. She is very passionate about the creative process, learning and teaching and she strives to create meaningful connection with her students through a tailored and individualized approach in an open and inclusive space, where strengths, interests, curiosities and needs are taken into account for a personalized experience that works in developing a strong practical skillset while honoring students own creativity.
